Elite Hockey Player -
Role of Parents!
You are a
parent or a tutor responsible
for a young athlete playing
elite hockey. He needs your
support and encouragement.
HOCKEY PLAYER
FIRST,
WINNING SECOND!
The diagram
below present some guidelines
about the behaviour that
parents, tutor, or even coaches
should have with an EHP. This
list of rules is not complete,
but it helps to present a line
of conduct that the direction of
NAPS enhances during the
tournament:

There's more
to life than hockey. Top
prospects enjoy winning and how
to handle defeat. Remember that
these EHP's are PLAYING hockey.
It is important to allow them to
establish their own goals and
play the game for themselves. Be
careful not to impose your own
standards or objectives.
A healthy,
risk-free environment that
emphasizes the importance of
sportsmanship, fair play, and
discipline and, most
importantly, fun will be
invaluable for your child as he
or she continues to develop a
positive self image. Strive to
be supportive and point out the
things they do well.
Have fun and
enjoy NAPS!
